Allison Shuff, MSW Advanced Student
Hi! I’m Allison. I am a second year graduate student currently interning at Hopeful Core Therapy. My academic background is in psychology with multiple years of experience working in a clinical setting.
With a passion for mental health, I am dedicated to helping clients create lasting change.
While pursuing my Master’s in Social Work at the University of Maryland, Baltimore, I have gained experience working in one-on-one and group settings. Throughout my coursework, I have also acquired valuable insight and therapeutic techniques to help my clients with the issues they are facing. This includes, but is not limited to, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness and stress reduction techniques, as well as various group therapy strategies.
I have prior experience working with children and adults of all ages and independence levels. I also have a background working in behavioral therapy, and outreach experience working with survivors of intimate partner violence. I primarily work with teens and young adults dealing with trauma, sexual identity concerns, relationship issues, and ADHD.
I provide my clients with active listening, a safe space, and work to build a strong therapeutic relationship. I am dedicated to continuing to help anyone who needs it with open arms and without judgment.
I enjoy working with:
- Anxiety
- Sexual identity issues
- LGBTQ+ issues
- Young adults
- Neurodivergence
- Intimate Partner Violence
